+ When is it best for our session to take place?

Baby portrait sessions are often best if they take place in the morning. The light is lovely in the morning and babies are normally at their best. It’s best to start the shoot right after they’ve just been fed.

+ Where will the session take place?

Where the shoot takes place is entirely up to you. In my experience, it’s best to shoot in your own home for babies who aren’t walking, as this is where they are normally the most relaxed. However, I can also shoot studio styled images in my home & we can do outdoor pictures in your garden or the local park.

+ You use a lot of natural light, what if it’s gloomy or raining on the day?

I use reflectors & top quality lenses which let in lots of light, to ensure a great set of images. If necessary, I can also use small lights indoors for a subtle increase in the light, which still looks natural. So, wherever possible we’ll go ahead. However, I will call to check that you're happy to proceed because if your heart is set on some pictures outdoors, or it's a really dark day then it might be better to reschedule.

+ How can I confirm the date I want?

A 20% deposit is payable to secure your pre-booked slot, which is then deducted from the package you choose. Scroll down for full pricing information. Once you have booked you will receive a pre-shoot information guide in PDF format.

+ What should we wear?

Muted, natural colours will create a timeless look. Such as blues, creams, whites, browns, tan, sandy, khaki and pastel colours. Babies are best dressed in plain outfits or wrapped in soft blankets of muted colours.

In your pre-shoot consultation we can discuss in detail what you are after and go through some of your outfit choices if you wish.

+ What happens if my baby is ill?

If your little one is poorly then we will reschedule the shoot. There’s no point going ahead when one family member is ill, as you want to treasure your photographs for a long time afterwards. If your child is unwell please just give me as much notice as possible when cancelling the shoot.

+ What happens if our baby scratches his/her cheek the night before our shoot?

This shouldn’t be too much of a problem. As long as the scratch is in an area that isn’t too difficult to retouch, I can remove most minor imperfections in post-production.

+ What if I don’t like having my picture taken?

Don’t worry, lots of people feel the same way. Before the shoot we will talk through any worries you have, so I can find out more about your specific concerns.

The portraits I shoot won’t be staid, formal shots where you are forced to smile at the camera and strike an unnatural pose. Today’s photography is much more fluid & natural. I want to capture you & your baby at your happiest and most relaxed.

+ How long after the session can we see our images?

You can see your full set of edited images, via an online, password protected viewing gallery, within two weeks of your shoot.

+ Can I buy a session for a family member or friend as a gift?

Absolutely! A baby milestone photography session is a wonderful gift, which lasts a lifetime. The recipient will receive a personalised letter & gift voucher. For last minute gifts, I can email you a gift letter & voucher to send electronically.
