Having a newborn is a magical experience! I love to capture natural, light filled images of you & your baby, along with their little features & details from those first few precious days.
Those heady first days
As a mum of four, I have always marvelled at how quickly my tiny newborns grew to be chubby six month olds & then walking toddlers. I still look back at their newborn images & cannot believe how tiny they were. You baby will grow & change before your very eyes. Newborn photography ensures the memories of those little toes, sleepy eyes & newborn cuddles are captured forever.
Sleeping Like A Baby
The ideal time for a newborn shoot is around five to ten days old for those beautiful, sleepy shots. But life after your baby arrives can be unpredictable, so I often do newborn shoots up to four weeks after birth.

My style is to take beautiful, contemporary images at home, where you feel most comfortable. I use soft, natural window light for contemporary images that capture the details of those hazy newborn days forever.

FAQ’s
+ How can I book a newborn session if I don’t know when my baby will arrive?
The ideal time to photograph a newborn is between 5-10 days old. This is when they are at their most sleepy & before any flaky skin or newborn blemishes appear.
It's best to book the shoot while you are still pregnant & we will block off some time around a week after your due date. However, this is completely flexible & we will work around the arrival of your little one in case they are early or late.
+ How will the shoot work?
The shoot will be very relaxed. Between shooting I like to allow time for any necessary nappy changes, feeds, naps, cuddles, outfit changes, backdrop changes & refreshments. The last thing I want is for you to feel rushed & not enjoy the experience.
+ How can I confirm the date I want?
A £99 deposit is payable to secure your pre-booked slot, which is then deducted from the package you choose. Scroll down for full pricing information. Once you have booked you will receive a pre-shoot information guide in PDF format.
+ Where will the session take place?
It’s best to do a newborn shoot in your own home, as this is where you will all be the most relaxed. However, we can also do some outdoor shots in your garden or visit a local park if you would prefer outdoor images.
+ How can I confirm the date I want?

+ What should we wear?
Muted, natural colours will create a timeless look. Such as blues, creams, whites, browns, tan, sandy, khaki and pastel colours. Babies are best dressed in plain outfits or wrapped in soft blankets of muted colours.
In your pre-shoot consultation we can discuss in detail what you are after & go through some of your outfit choices if you wish.
+ What happens if our baby scratches his/her cheek the night before our shoot?
This shouldn’t be too much of a problem. As long as the scratch is in an area that isn’t too difficult to retouch, I can remove most minor imperfections in post-production.
+ What happens if my baby is ill?
If your little one is poorly then we will reschedule the shoot. There’s no point going ahead when one family member is ill, as you want to treasure your photographs for a long time afterwards. If your child is unwell please just give me as much notice as possible when cancelling the shoot.
+ What if I don’t like having my picture taken?
Don’t worry, lots of people feel the same way. Before the shoot we will talk through any worries you have, so I can find out more about your specific concerns.
The portraits I shoot won’t be staid, formal shots where you are forced to smile at the camera & strike an unnatural pose. Today’s photography is much more fluid & natural. I want to capture you at your happiest & most relaxed.
+ How long after the session can we see our images?
You can see your full set of edited images, via an online, password protected viewing gallery, within two weeks of your shoot.
+ Can I buy a session for a family member or friend as a gift?
Absolutely! A newborn photography session is a wonderful gift, which lasts a lifetime. The recipient will receive a personalised letter & gift voucher. For last minute gifts, I can email you a gift letter & voucher to send electronically.
